About Kanji Sheets
Kanji Sheets (筆順, “stroke order”) makes clean, printable kanji practice sheets. It is built and run in Japan by a single developer. Worksheets are drawn directly from stroke data — no generative AI is involved.
Data sources
- Stroke order: KanjiVG © Ulrich Apel and contributors, licensed CC BY-SA 3.0. We render the strokes one by one, which is a modification.
- Readings, meanings, grades, frequency: KANJIDIC © Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0, via the kanji-data compilation by David Gouveia. School grades follow KANJIDIC and predate the 2020 curriculum revision.
- JLPT levels: Jonathan Waller's lists (tanos.co.uk, CC BY). The JLPT has not published official kanji lists since 2010.
- PDF font: Noto Sans JP (SIL Open Font License 1.1), subset to kana and Latin characters.
